Incredible India!

It's time for us to head back to India again for our bi yearly meetings so let us share a little of what we experienced in incredible India!

We arrived at the airport just in time for my good buddy Ravi to fetch us.  As usual, there were guards with machine guys outside the airport and no...I didn't have the balls to take photos of them.

Well...I did take a picture of the numerous cool vintage cabs on our way back to the factory.

Did I mention that sometimes our supplies are still carried by bullcart?

There was very little time for us to smell the "fresh" air and reminisce the retro age, work was piling on us the instant we reached the factory.   Leathers for us to choose, designs to discuss and fabricate, parts to order and etc etc etc...

This particular is a pretty unique and hard to find blue pull up cow leather.  We especially liked this piece. *wink*

This waxy pull up was also one of the better batches of new hides this time, I'm sure it would look great on a vintage messenger bag.  It should pretty much turn out like the one that good old indiana jones was carrying in the temple of doom. *Coool*

What about these brass snap hooks?  These are pretty sturdy and will not rust!  Ok, its time for science 101, rust aka iron oxide only forms on iron or steel in the presence of moisture and oxidation.

So please fork out much more $ for brass accessories if you want a rust free experience.  Wait, rust free doesn't not mean that they won't tarnish though. =)

Finally, our designs are out and guess what? The factory just purchased a new laser cutting machine!  YEAH!  No more tedious hand cutting of the leather!  Our prototyping time just got cut by half and its a load more accurate too!

Erm....I was pretty shocked by the price though, close to a 100 grand for the full set.  Well...it would pay off in the long run with the precise cutting and reduction in waste material.

Anyway, we don't want to bore you with the details of our work so lets fast forward to R&R!

You might want to skip this section if you are not a fan of historical sites.  We'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. ;P

We couldn't resist taking pictures of our personal bags with the uber vintage backdrops.

Hey hey, one of our designers even managed to get a picture of the local village chief.  A rare sight indeed! *laughs*
